Well, we&#8217;d like to help. So to better think about decision making for dental services, we\u2019ve designed a simple little framework\u2014<strong>with this being the second in a series of four posts.<\/strong><em>It\u2019s our hope that this will help bring additional clarity to your decision making.<\/em><strong>WE KNOW that decisions are always YOURS to make, <\/strong>and we want to be sure you have good information that you can use.<\/p>\n<h3>For purposes of this series of posts here on our blog, we\u2019ve divided \u201cThe Lifetime of Your Smile\u201d into four phases:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">1\u201320 Year Old Smiles<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">20\u201340 Year Old Smiles<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">40\u201365 Year Old Smiles<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">65+ Year Old Smiles<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to finding <strong>YOUR<\/strong> smile\u2019s current phase, you likely have family members and loved ones in the other phases as well. <strong><em>We invite you to <a title=\"Lake Oconee Dental\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LakeOconeeDental?ref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">pass the information along<\/a>!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Must do\u2019s. Should do\u2019s. But, don\u2019t forget that children and teens are becoming <strong>increasingly aware and sensitive about their appearance <\/strong><em>(just like we all did!)<\/em>. The condition of their smile can have <em><strong>a tremendous impact<\/strong><\/em> on their developing self image.<\/p>\n<h3>Must do.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular check ups should begin <strong>before<\/strong> a child\u2019s third birthday.<\/li>\n<li>Dentists are often the first to see signs of Bulimia. This and other problems can often be spotted through routine checkups, allowing care to be given while still in beginning stages.<\/li>\n<li>Sometimes a dentist\u2019s counsel goes farther than parents\u2019 when it comes to subjects like soda pop consumption or tongue piercing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Should do.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Extensive orthodontics are sometimes prevented by an alert from our dentists, e.g. space retainers maintain important space in early tooth loss.<\/li>\n<li>Sealants are a liquid plastic applied to chewing surfaces to prevent decay\u2014especially for those hard-to-reach places that children neglect.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding the causes of bad breath ensures lifelong prevention and avoids embarrassment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Could do.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Your teen\u2019s smile is so important to his or her self image.
